THE TYPE OF THERAPY I OFFER

I work with a variety of clients hence I use a variety of therapies depending on your individual needs. Although psychodynamic psychotherapeutic talk therapy is the basis of most sessions, I may use other techniques such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) to help with anxiety, depression and trauma. 

Our unconscious may hold onto painful feelings and memories which are too difficult for the conscious mind to process and may lead to unwanted physical and/or emotional symptoms. The aim of psychodynamic therapy is to help you to safely experience and understand your true, deep-rooted feelings in order to resolve them, cultivating resilience and self empathy.

 

I have over thirty years of experience in yoga and mindfulness meditation and as such, honour the undeniable connection between body and mind. Hence I will at times use or recommend these tools as part of the therapeutic process.
